Dr. John Lee Hemmer, Jr., MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Specialty Orthopaedics offering comprehensive orthopedic care for patients across Northeast Georgia. He brings years of experience in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, joint pain and replacement, fracture management, and sports-related injuries.
Dr. Hemmer earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed orthopedic residency training at the Greenville Hospital System and Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children. He also served in the United States Army, gaining additional orthopedic clinical experience.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Hemmer’s professional memberships include the American Medical Association and the Georgia Orthopaedic Society.
